KFA Response to Workplace Training Workshops
First of all, thank you for bringing forward your questions and concerns about KPU’s January 20, 2016 announcement about mandatory Respectful Workplace Training workshops.
KPU is fulfilling the WorkSafeBC requirement for employers to provide training that addresses workplace bullying and harassment. This requirement arises out of WorkSafeBC’s 2013 Occupational Health and Safety policies.
On January 27, 2016 KPU as issued a comprehensive Q and A on Respectful Workplace Training via KPU’s Communicator. We would like to highlight these three items from the Q and A:
Thistraining is mandatory, as per provincially mandated requirements.
Thethree hour training sessions count as accountable time for regular and NR2 faculty.
NR1faculty should submit timesheets to get compensated for this mandatory work assignment.
